TextMyJournal was born after hearing one too many people say: “I really should keep a journal, but…”
Time to journal! Who are you?
Hi! I’m Roxy, the founder of TextMyJournal. My goal is simple: to help people tell their stories. I believe our life stories are made up of small, seemingly insignificant moments that, when combined, create a beautiful story of who we are and how we got there. When I’m not working with TextMyJournal or designing websites, you can find me exploring the Pacific Northwest with my husband and daughter.
Do you keep a journal?
I kept a journal once upon a time for one year, just to prove I could do it, and I’m so glad I have that year documented! (Update: since starting TextMyJournal, I’ve actually been much better about keeping a journal! This works for me!) I’m an adventurer, though, and sitting still to document my journeys has never been conducive to – well, having journeys.
How did TextMyJournal get started?
I like to learn, and see, and do, and create. And so I thought I’d combine those loves – and there was born the idea of a journal that was something much more convenient to the fast pace of life.
Enter TextMyJournal. My goal was to find a convenient way for my family (and myself!) to document our lives. The idea caught on quickly. Others heard the idea and got excited to text their stories. After months of research, I decided to take a leap with my next big adventure, and TextMyJournal was born.
What steps did you take to achieve your goal?
I combined my vision and design experience with the work of a talented developer and a gifted UX design and brand specialist to create the product I would use. Conveniently, others have found it useful too.
TextMyJournal has been preserving stories like yours for over two years, one text a time.
